Intercepter is using a combination of two technologies, GPS and cellular. The GPS is used to locate the stationary or moving vehicle with very high accuracy, and the cellular portion is used to transmit the information to the monitoring station. The GPS technology is a lot more accurate than the cellular tracking technology. Cellular tracking is definitely offering less accuracy ( the location accuracy varies from a radius of + or - 1 km, up to a radius of 40 km in certain cases). Cellular tracking also requires the deployement of a mobile unit to locate the vehicle and the time factor reduces the chances of recuperation ; In addition, it is impossible to locate a moving vehicle with accuracy, by cellular tracking technology.
